Hip Circle was founded in 2002 by Natasha (Wells) van der Merwe, and has become one of the biggest and most prominent Belly Dance Studios in Cape Town. Growing up in a Family of Musicians, Natasha realised that her knowledge of the industry could be put to good use, as an agent. Hip Circle offers BELLY DANCERS, MUSICIANS, FIRE DANCERS & HENNA ARTISTS With years of Belly Dance performances under her belt, Natasha’s love of the dance clearly shows. She has danced at too many functions to mention, in Cape Town, Langabaan, Ceris, Breede River, George, East London, Morgan Bay... She is the resident dancer of the Olive Station Restaurant in Muizenberg, and has performed at venues including Fancourt, the Cullinan hotel, the Vinyard hotel, the Villa Via hotel Madam Zingara’s... Has danced on stage at the Baxter, Artscape, Grahamstown Festival and more. Specialising in dancing to Live music, Natasha now mostly performs at high profile parties and corporate functions, but her other love is teaching... and therefore specialises in Workshop performances, where she ignites the passion of belly dance for the participants, young and old.
